:: The One with the Road Trip ::
So it’s going to be the end of 2007 and Gerald, Grace and I decided to go on a little road trip to Penang for some makan-ing session. Too bad that Johnny, Hin Loong and Ivan couldn’t join us on our journey to the land of Kiasu Penangites.
During our visit to Penang, we stayed in City Bayview Penang and I was kinda disappointed with the not hot enough shower, broken TV and their curved mattresses. Other than that, the view was not too bad.
Gurney was packed as usual and I still don’t get the parking charging system in Penang till now. Why waste man power walking around issuing parking “summons” and then issuing another paid parking ticket?
The people here are just horrible. Serious. Penangitis syndrome. They are snobbish, drivers kiss other drivers backside for no reason and they love to honk. Even if I signalled for 5 seconds, their motorist are freaking blind and just langgar you.
After nearly being infected with Penangitis, we hurried over to Cameron Highlands just for fun. The weather was great!
On the way out we visited the Cameron Valley tea plantation for picture snapping and scones!
Tourists are allowed to walk into a portion of the plantation to snap pictures and pluck some tea leaves perhaps?
The cool weather, scenery and tranquility of the life style in Camerons really makes me think of getting a holiday home for retirement or just a vacation in the future.
I’m starting to like Camerons.

jccy : dont worry. penang is a nice place. its the mentality that i dont like thats all. in kl we have the same breed of ppl here. kekeke, hey, come on, i like you jccy! (no gay meaning)
gerald : hahaha, i know i am mean. but thats me lo. YEA! i totally forgot bout supper incident. i was surprised to see that penang is somewhat seremban-ish on supper. by 10 apa pun boh liao.

was up there for a few days…
the place is superbly cleaner than KL and got a lot of nice food…i like the ochien there..hehehe
may retire there…hahhaaha

jessica : omg. penang is not that much cleaner than KL. seriously. if you take into consideration the amount of population in KL than penang then you will come to understand why the place is comparatively cleaner than KL.
and the drivers in penang are just blatant rude. their mentality is horrible. I’m sorry to criticize this but they are like a country of their own, with their selfish thoughts and snobbish words make me plain hate them. some penangites are ok. some are just terrible.
the food in penang is no doubt nice but you can get food that is equally or not better than penang food in any state. its just whether you wanna find it or most of the time; one man’s meat is another’s poison. taste differs per se, i find the Klang cendol is much better then Penang road cendol. its nothing to shout about.
retiring in penang? no way for me.
