I normally don’t flame.  But I’m really in the mood to now.

Here’s one definition of Toyota.

Toyotas, they are ugly, endlessly reliable and you have to suffer millions of boring miles of it before it has the decency to just lie down and die.

PS :-P romise better content the next post.

    Dude.. I drive a toyota…

  • vincent Says:

What happened? A guy in a Toyota bumped your car? Or did the salesman at the showroom pissed you off?

  • Gerald Ho Says:

    a pre-OCD sympton…:P

  • kevin Says:

sha : sry bro. i have a certain disliking towards the 2000’s onwards toyota.

vincent : lol. tarak la, i will never buy a toyota. NEVER. yet alone to test drive one. its just i dont seem to understand how malaysians literally worship the brand even though its that great a car! you have to agree with me that toyota’s a dead boring.

gerald : ahha! this could be my OCD!

  • vincent Says:

I think Malaysians worship Honda more. VTEC sini sana.. lol. Yeah have to agree with you on that but the Camry looks good. The previous Vios, before the Dugong looks decent.

  • kevin Says:

vincent : hmm, think the avg chinese msians prefers toyota. the avg ah beng would love a VTEC. the avg tak cukup duit will go for the perodua.

die hard ppl like me would go proton/continental.

camry looks great but from what i hear its not as good as the previous one. the 1stG Vios is a looker but honestly, is cramped. the 2nd G Vios is pure FUGLY.

  • tokmoh Says:

shah: I thought u drive a Satria Neo? Sold edi?

Vince: sales number show Toyota > Honda. For the first time ever, Honda is finally challenging Toyota sales in the form the new Honda City with currently approximately 2000++ units per month. Me n my frens call the new city kereta tulang for its ludicrous front grille, n it puzzled us how it’s the most popular Honda now……

Kev: YEAHHHHHHH!!!! High five bro!! Vios Dugong eh? Kanasai tiru waja’s rear light…… n some fanboy say it looks almost luxury or something. Kalau on proton kutuk macam tahi pula……

If u noticed in paultan, there’s a guy called peYno. He did say JDM Toyotas are ok, but the Toyotas thrown at us (n many other asian countries as well) are insulting.

I still hate them, bwahahahahahaha. I’d rather drool on Ford Focus RS, n Alfa Romeo Brera Spyder :)

  • kevin Says:

tokmoh : well, generally malaysians buy cars based on looks. kereta cantik beli je. then comes branding. thats why our national proton kena bash 9 9.

they fail to see that other countries also tax their foreign cars just as much. talk bout kettle calling the pot black eh?

btw, will they bring in the focus rs?

and hows that power window of yours?

  • s2k_247 Says:

Tokmoh: My sis got the Satria… I drive the Dugong Vios…

Kev: Eh i think the new Camry is awesome. The older one looked… sharp… not the good looking sharp, the “dont touch it it will stab you” sharp…

  • kevin Says:

sha : pardon me sha. they are nice looking urban city cars thats all. and they just irk me. =p

  • vincent Says:

Kev : Well old mentality die hard.. People still assume Proton = Milo tin. Continental = Hard to mantain, spare part mahal. Jap cars = Reliable. That’s the sad part about Malaysian culture.

tokmoh : Dunno y I semakin like the City. The previous one was more of an aunty’s car. Maybe the current one looks more masculine with its edgier body contours?

About Dugong taking on Waja’s tail lamps, I read it in paultan and almost fell off the chair laughing.

  • Grace Says:

Never like a toyota in the first place. Over-rated. Perhaps it’s a family or an aunty’s car.

Well, I love my City. Muahahaha.

  • vincent Says:

Kev : I don’t think we’ll get the Focus RS. The Americans don’t even have a chance, so I don’t think it’ll ever get here. If you’re really desperate enough, there’s the local grey importer.

    http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/27/report-ford-wont-bring-current-focus-rs-stateside/

The next one might. *Crosses fingers*

  • s2k_247 Says:

Kev: It is nice..I think by far, the best looking toyota out there…

As for the Dugongmobile, its hella ugly… just plain, butt ass, Danny deVito, Fantasia Barrino, Tze’s moon face, ugly…

I still think that the best looking car, ever, is the Honda Perlude (the 1989) version.

  • kevin Says:

vincent : hmm, car choice is a very personal thingy. if everyone functions the same, tarak market liao! =p

WTF! WE WONT GET THE RS!!!??? !$!@$)!@)(%*!@$!@#!@#

and we complain our models in thailand are better. damn. even ford does that to americans.

grace : you silly girl are sporty. sama macam gerald. tarak cantik tarak mau. want a MX5?

sha : i dont deny the fact that toyota have nice lookers. actually the dugong grows on ppl. its like the savvy. at 1st sight, you would detest it.

uhhhhh that prelude is nice. very rare you see a nice condition one of late.

personally the best honda IMHO is the 7th gen accord (the sportiest model that s’pore got that we didnt)

  • Justin Says:

    wa.. why all complaining?
I take the bus to work.
    THE BUS. lol. MERECEDES BENZ.

    But i’ve always liked Hondas.
    How’s the Vios, sha?

and as for my first car..saving for downpayment sekarang.
my parents not gona sponsor me anything. jahat la.

have to do it all on my own.
    that means…. local car.
Saga or Myvi? or Viva….. Oh my god.
    /wrist

  • s2k_247 Says:

Justin: The vios is great… hella ugly, but still a very smart buy… You should get the Viva… I mean its cheap, consumes so little petrol its almost hybrid-ish… Never get a Proton…except a waja maybe…

Kev: I think its almost impossible to find a Prelude now… I know when i was looking at cars when i got back from aussie, me and my dad searched like hell for a Prelude, but could not find one that was in decent condition…

  • kevin Says:

justin : if i were you. i’ll spend that 30k on a 2nd hand car. just make sure you have at least 5% of the car’s value in cash to fix it up.

i live by 2nd hand. all my cars in my family have served us well.

i will refrain from dissing both proton and perodua makes. its your cash and its your choice.

but honestly, if you are willing to spend 30k on a viva/saga, you can get a 2nd hand myvi at that price. for 30k there are many japanese makes out in the market, around 7+ years old.

if you are planning to spend 50k on a myvi, for Lord sake get a M-line Persona at 54k. trust me, you wont change your car again in the near future. the bigger car the better. fuel aint that exp, and you dont travel in excess of 3k km per month.

sha : the waja cps is not bad. the neo cps is excellent. the savvy is better built than viva/myvi IMHO.

as for the prelude you can try in ipoh. seen a few but you may have to spend quite an amount on restoring them. =)

  • Justin Says:

okay, thanks for the heads up guys.
will take it all into consideration.

  • tokmoh Says:

Kev: Its still ok, but I’m seeing tell-tale signs of it failing soon.

Kettle calling the pot black indeed *nod*

They can’t even sell Focus biasa, apatah lagi RS… though, I won’t be surprised if some grey importer decides to bring in some.

Vince: 2 things spoilt new City: tulang rusuk grille n 3-series rear light celup. Maybe the interior too as I heard many said it’s not good, bt then again, I’ve yet to sit in one.

I was reading this one comment in The Malaysian Insider, he/she blamed a woman who accidentally killed her daughter while reversing her car on proton’s lousy quality. I lol-ed. So if it happened in a T, it’s an “accident”. If it’s in a Proton, it’s Proton’s fault, n that the mother should sue Proton for it?

Sha: Was ur satria neo THAT bad? I know u used to comment the aircond’s weak, though frankly, I think Vios’ aircond is worse than my 1991 saga, even at full blast.

But then again, I think you’re being practical and that you’re not into car’s performance (ie you’re more concerned with fuel consumption, second hand value, reliability than about the handling, design, power), so a toyota’s fine for you. But not me, ehehe.
