:: The One with Deformers ::
Caught Transformers : Revenge of the Fallen over the weekend and boy was I in for a huge disappointment.
read:spoilers ahead in my rants bout the movie.
- This movie is IMHO confused in its overall direction. its starts off slow, then bang boom kaapooww, lame joke, slow, bang boom, lame joke, sexual joke, bang boom, slow motion scenes of megan fox, tearjerker moment, clash booom poww, jumper moment, joke, gundam 00 moments, then it ends with an EVEN WORSE ENDING THAN THE 1ST MOVIE.
- There is NO plot, NO script in this movie.
- The twins are annoying.
- The Optimus Prime I grew up with suddenly became ultra cold and evil. Killed decepticons without mercy or hessitation.
- Ravage was not bad. Bumblebee again, I reiterate, is a VW bettle around human size, and not some kickass Autobot. And he CAN talk.
- I’m confused. Which is Soundwave now? The 1st pesking information spy in the 1st movie or that satellite humping decepticon in the 2nd? Where is his cassettes, his monotone robot voice? WTF. My fav decepticon totally butchered.
- Devastator devastated my childhood memories. The 1st time you were to see the original devastator you would go “WOW!”. This devastator makes you go -_-”. it looks like some retarded sea cucumber sucking in loads of sand.
- Optimus borrows many cues from the Japanese anime “Gundam 00″. While fighting Megatron and konco in the forest, he goes into Trans-Am mode and goes on a killing spree. Against The Fallen (who???), he gets his “00 Raiser” and gains flight and temporary super autobot strength.
- Jetfire (the old kapal terbang), can jump like Anakin Skywaller in Jumper.
- WHO THE HELL IS THE FALLEN? Unicron I tau. Galvatron I tau. Quintessons I tau.
- Megatron in this installment macam watak sampingan.
- The Megatron-Starscream relationship suddenly became so apparent in this installment after totally disregarding it in the 1st.
- Regardless how hot Megan Fox is, who on earth are mikaela, sam and whoever? I only know Spike Witwicky and Sparkplug Witwicky.
I can go on and on bout this. Argh.

U missed out Transformer testicles…And HOW.THE.HELL. can they mess up Soundwave???
Dude, almost any movie that gets adapted from a anime/cartoon/book/comic WILL suck balls (*except Sin City*)
Look at Dragonball, Street Fighter, and who can forget the LSD induced bile (*that was temporarily salvaged by Christina Ricci in some scenes*) that was Speed Racer…
But the Fallen memang ada, and Optimus did have his super 20 second upgrade…
The only way to save this is to bring on Star Saber and Victory Leo FTW!!!

oh well…..havent we all have the same thing over remakes from animation series???
ooh….but whatever it is..like my friend and DJ’s from Fly FM says..no matter how bad the reviews are….tickets are still being SOLD OUT!i mean….heck…i guess it didnt hurt them that much..:)

Yeah ticket sales are going nuts. I tried booking it a few days before it was first shown, even that was full! N it wasn’t in KL or Penang, it was in Ipoh! Is it really that bad?

grace : actually i never liked any of bay’s movies. entah kenapa.
sha : eh i didnt see street fighter, speed racer! but i would see street fighter because of kreuk.
one comic adaptation i quite fancied was constantine. very anti-hero style. havent had the time to watch watchmen or the spirit.

gerald : most of the ppl on my FB list kept on saying how great the movie was. shows the mentality of us avg malaysian huh?

Haven’t watched Transformer 2 yet, but somehow I’m just itching to watch it soon.
Oh you don’t seem to accept how they changed Transformers, r u a hardcore G1-er?

wa.. i didnt see this post until after i wrote how much I hated it in my blog too..
hahahaha it was quite bad leh really. some partsduring the movie i was actually grumbling and shaking my head.
Devastator was a giant vacuum cleaner. it sucked.
sha: graphic novels seem to do better than other adaptations. Working examples include: 300, Hellboy, Sin City

I went to KLCC to pick up my fixed phone at bukit bintang (stopped at KLCC cuz riding putra-lrt) on the 2nd day of this movie launch (26th IIANM). Arrived ard 930am, TGV start open 10am, became among first few who queued. Got 1030am show. Yippi!!
At first I was like ooo… Optimus prime looked cool with twin blades ala protoss zealot… yeah…..
But on 2nd thought, urgh…… just like myvi, kan? At first (back in 2005) it was ooo… spacious, DVVT, twin airbags, abs, optitron LED, toyota marr…… but today, ptooih!! And most annoyingly, they both sell like mad (transformers ticket n myvi). sigh……

Ermm… dislike n hate sounds very similar to me, ehehe…
In any case, I think males should never put our money on the mihvi, it’s just too girlish. It still have its merit, but when there’s choices like savvy, saga or persona, I’d root for proton.
