@gerald : lol. that was RANDOM!
@grace : soh poh, you will travel the world b4 u go. that you will.
@justin : go to this site. and compare stuff.
http://www.dxomark.com/

the only prob with the D60 is its age. and nikon just launched a new entry level DSLR supposingly to replace the D60, its called the D3000 i think.
the only thing i love bout sony is the vidcam-ish pullout screen and u can use old minolta lenses on it.

i think every camera suffers in low lightning conditions. there is no escaping it. the only thing you can do is
1) put to Auto mode
2) change to S (shutter priority mode and adjust the shutter speed you want)
3) full manual mode
4) crank up your ISO (the higher the grainier your photos)
5) get prime lens (50mm with ultra big aperture [small number f, contoh f1.4]
6) speedlights (nikon's flashes)

tapi if i got your question wrong, and you meant it for normal digicams
1) hi-kan your ISO
2) sports mode
3) flash?
4) tuck your elbows in towards your chest
5) get your subjects to pause. =p

hope this helps sir knight justin!

I see... I'm trying to research, but as usual, information overload.

Everything thrown into my face, making it so hard to choose.

I'm seriously eyeing Nikon D60 now too, as well as some Sonys.

D60: the outdoor photos look awesome, but how does it perform in low lighting?

Also, my hands aren't very stable, tend to have blurry photos in low light. Is there any image-stabilising functions for easy quick indoor shots?

hey justin, just happen to have the canoe passing by when i took the pic.

am using the Nikon D60.

dslr is a personal thing. u should try all brands b4 hand and see which one fits you best. also remember, that even though the body makes a difference, the lenses are the controlling factor for making pics great.

for entry level dslrs, i rate them:
value for $ : sony > nikon > canon
quality : canon > nikon > sony
balanced : nikon > canon > sony

whichever brand you go for, generally you wont go wrong. research research!
