:: The One with Soi 23 ::

The night of my burstday, Grace decided to literally blindfold me, bundle me into my own car and then ferry me to a surprise dinner somewhere. Having a mild motion sickness disorder, coupled with an awfully large piece of cloth covering my sight could have potentially alerted any police personel in the vicinity for a kindapping case if most of them weren’t too busy planning road blocks pre-Hindraf rally.

Riding blindfolded in a car isn’t really very comfortable; on the open road it’s ok but nearing the end of my ordeal journey it got a bit turbulent.

Soi 23
Located on the 23rd floor of Menara PanGlobal

Luna Bar
Located on the top floor with a scenic 360 view of KL city

It has been awhile since we ate Thai cuisine and it has been approximately 2 years since we had it in Soi 23. Soi 23 together with Luna Bar (excellent place to hangout) is located in Menara PanGlobal, off Jln P. Ramlee, Kuala Lumpur.

Soi23 Interior
Comtemporary décor sets scrumptious mood

The interior design of Soi 23 is very comtemporary, the lightings very dimmed just right but the air conditioning was a tad too chilly for my likings. Service from the crew was a contrast to the temperature; they were very warm and pleasant with smiling being second nature to them.

Fine Thai Dining
Dig into great Thai dishes!

The food was brought to the table very promptly, in just nice portions. Soi 23 boasts one of the best asian culinary with Thai flair in town and seriously, it’s a dining experience fit even for royalty!

:: The One with the Number 23 ::

From Chris

It’s the 21st again and frankly, I just thought of it as another day passing without much anticipation awaiting me at the start my birthday. As it falls nearing the end of November, not many remember this day; those remembering it casually texts me on my mobile. Having your birthday during the holidays just ain’t fun at times.

Things were the same this time round, albeit it being worse as I still have projects and my thesis to finish.

Well, everything was boring till…..

with frens

Out of the blue, Christopher Paul, Ivan Wong, Isaac Leong Hin Loong and Johnny Lee gate crashed. All thanks to master mind Grace Ong that is.

Bday Cake

Along with them was the birthday burstday cake, some cheesecake from Secret Recipe that I’ve never consumed before which turned out pretty delicious!

232323

Seriously, I’ve never gotten such a surprise birthday thingy like this since I was in Form 3, and that ended horribly as all my gifts went missing in McD’s. All these years I’ve never had any elaborate birthday celebrations, most of them was just having a pleasant dinner with my loved ones. Pretty boring one could say.

This year proved it not.

JerseyManUtd

Thanks Gerald Ho, Ivan, Loong, Johnny and Ps. Victor was this beautiful 2007/08 Manchester United Jersey! I’m utterly speechless right till this moment over this magnificent gift!

Keys

My parents didn’t purposely get me this for the birthday, but we were already in the market for a used vehicle to replace the old faithful Mazda that is finally showing its age after 28 years. Guess God really blessed me with this, timing was perfect.

Nautica

Last but not least, Grace got me this really gorgeous chronograph from Nautica. Somehow she really knows my taste for watches; it was just the right face size, not too big, not too small. :)

I would just like to thank all of you for making this year one hard to forget. I truly cherish everything that you’ve all done and thank God for our fellowship. Better stop here, before I sound gay-er than Ivan.
