:: The One with a Flashback ::

Had trip down memory lane to Seenivasagam Park in Ipoh, for fun.

Vaguely remember the days where we would come to the park.

Fish feeding area had some renovations

Used to slide down using the pelepah kelapa.  =)

The trees seemed to have gotten bigger.

They even refurbished and repainted this old structure.

Miss the good old days of childhood.

:: The One with Lost & Found ::

Remember somewhere last year I posted the best popiah in the world Ipoh town?  For the past few months, the uncle went AWOL until mom kinda bumped into him.

The grumpy old fart is now found in a newly established coffee shop in town!

The coffee shop is located just below Lotte Hotel, opposite The Store (ex Ocean).  Its also that same jalan that you can find transvestites roaming around for business in the wee hours.

Anyway, there used to be this really great chinese fried noodles that operated during the night at the junction of Jalan Leong Sin Nam and Cowan Street (Jln Raja Ekram). Its the shop that you have to order from the jail like barred window pane fronting a Telekom communication post thingy.   That shop also went missing for a good few years now.

Surprise surprise!

That very same great noodles are in the same shop as the popiah stall now!

Kedai Kopi Xin Le can be found at the junction of Jln Dato Onn Jaafar and Jln Foo Yet Kai.

The chinese mee goreng stall opens for lunch and dinner.

Popiah opens daily except for Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays!

Ps : Sorry for the lack of better pics.  Taken with the phone in a hurry.

:: The One with Indulgence ::

I was back in Ipoh for the Chinese New Year jams celebrations. There wasn’t much to do especially with most of the shops closing for the festive season and traveling around in town was worse than KL’s daily crawls.

One of the few fine dining restaurants that was still open for business is Indulgence, now located along Jalan Raja Dihilir.

Their tiramisu is just out of this world. Pricing is also sky high @ RM 12 per serving.

I already had dinner so I settled for a piece of brownie at a more reasonable price @ RM 6 per slice. Prices in Indulgence match those at Italianies but at a smaller portions, so it might be a pinch. Nevertheless, the food at Indulgence has always been great, with presentations that will certainly make appetites grow exponentially.

Even the Royal Family of Perak dines here on weekends. Food for thought, huh?

On a lighter note, my car was nearly stolen back in PJ 2 days ago. Modus operandi is breaking the passenger lock and duplicating the key for the driver door and ignition. Please take note.
